How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your information. We share it only with trusted service providers that help us run our website and process gifts, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe and PayPal — payment processing
- SiteGround — website hosting, security, and backups
- Our email delivery service — to send receipts and form confirmations
- Google Maps — the map on our Contact page loads from Google
- YouTube — the “Our Story” video on our About page is played from YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode)
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our animals, volunteers, or visitors.
Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies. These include essential cookies that make the donation form work, cookies set by Stripe and PayPal to prevent fraud during payment, cookies Google may set when the map on our Contact page loads, and cookies YouTube may set if you play the video on our About page. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the donation form may not work properly without them.
How Long We Keep Information
- Donation records — as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally at least seven years)
- Adoption and foster form submissions — as long as needed to evaluate your interest and complete any placement
- Stay Connected sign-ups — until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you
Keeping Your Information Safe
Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal, which follow industry security standards for card data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your Choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you updates, by emailing us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time. We will not list your name publicly as a donor or sponsor without your permission.
Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
